Call For Workshops CROS 2025

Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil (April 28-30, 2025)

The Organizing Committee of the 1st Brazilian Conference on Robotics invites proposals for workshops to be held as part of the conference. Workshops provide an excellent opportunity for researchers, practitioners, and professionals to explore cutting-edge topics, foster collaboration, and promote the exchange of ideas within the robotics community.

Important dates

  • Submission Deadline: January 27th, 2025
  • Notification of Acceptance: February 10th, 2025
  • Workshop Date: April, 28-30th, 2025, Belo Horizonte, Minas gerais, Brazil.

Submission guidelines

Proposals should include the following information:

1. Organizer Information

  • Full name(s) of the organizer(s).
  • Affiliation(s).
  • Contact details (email and phone).
  • Brief biography highlighting relevant experience (max. 150 words per organizer).

2. Workshop Overview

  • Title and Abstract: Provide a descriptive and engaging title and a concise abstract (150–300 words) summarizing the workshop’s purpose, relevance, and target audience.
  • Theme, Objectives, and Audience: Clearly define the primary theme and any related subthemes, explain the workshop’s significance to the robotics community, and identify the intended participants (academics, industry professionals, students, etc.), including the expected knowledge level (beginner, intermediate, advanced).

3. Workshop Structure and Logistics

  • Format and Agenda: Specify the format (e.g., keynote talks, panel discussions, technical presentations, hands-on sessions), the duration (half-day, full-day, or multi-day), and a tentative agenda or schedule.
  • Speakers and Contributors: List proposed invited speakers (if applicable) and describe how participant contributions (e.g., papers, demos) will be solicited and reviewed (if applicable). Note that If invited speakers are included, the financial resources for their participation (e.g., travel, accommodation, etc.) must be secured by the workshop organizers.
  • Logistical Requirements: Specify any special requirements for the venue (e.g., room setup, technical equipment) and other resources needed (e.g., computers, space for posters).

4. Promotion Plan

  • Describe how the workshop will be promoted to attract participants (e.g., social media, email campaigns).

5. Additional Information

  • Suggest dates and times for the workshop.
  • Indicate whether the workshop will produce proceedings or reports.
  • Include any other relevant information.

Evaluation Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated based on:

  • Relevance and timeliness of the topic.
  • Clarity and completeness of the proposal.
  • Potential to attract participants and foster discussion.
  • Qualifications and experience of the organizers.

Submission Process

Please submit your workshop proposal as a single PDF document by e-mail (ws_cros@sbrobotica.org) by 27 January 2025.

We look forward to receiving your proposals and collaborating to make the 1st Brazilian Conference on Robotics a success!

  • Is it allowed to submit a paper that previously was published at a workshop or on a preprint server (e.g. arxiv)?
IEEE supports the evolutionary publication paradigm of workshop papers being improved to conference papers, which are then improved to journal papers. Therefore, papers, which previously have been published at a workshop without formal/peer reviewed proceedings, can be submitted to CROS. Similarly, papers, which have been uploaded on a preprint server (e.g. arxiv) and are not submitted simultaneously to any other conference or journal, can be submitted to CROS.

However, if your workshop paper has a DOI, this would be considered as an archival publication equivalent to a conference paper. Such papers cannot be submitted.
